our first open house this october.
So the past few days in Tayo have been really fun and exciting. Been working on different ways to increase foot traffic, because as ~aesthetic~ as our space is, the fact of the matter is that it's hidden in plain sight. But here’s where it gets tricky, how do we do this while on a budget? How do we make as much noise as possible, with as little spending as possible? Is it even possible?
Full transparency, when we built Tayo, we invested so much into the design of the space that we practically don’t have much left for marketing- so we gotta get creative. About a week ago, our coffee supplier, Allo, reached out to us and proposed a coffee event with NCC (Northern Coffee Community). They proposed a coffee cupping event, wherein guests can taste and evaluate the beans that they roast. Loved the idea instantly and happy to announce that we’re now set to host this event on Oct. 5! From this I realized that the best, most cost efficient way to increase foot traffic is to find meaningful ways to collaborate with other businesses, after all we are in the business of fostering a community.
So the past few days have been all about making sure this event (name TBD) is as fun as possible for everyone involved. So one of the things I want to include is having a handpoke tattoo station during said event. I thought it would be a cool idea that guests could meet new friends over coffee, and if they’re up for it, maybe have a tattoo while they’re at it. So yes, happy to also announce that handpoke artists @alon.tattoo, @natalinya_, and @inktothewoods_ will be joining us on Oct. 5! Please do give them a follow as they’ll be posting the flash designs that will be available for purchase.
How do you get creative with marketing on a budget? Partner with people who want to create cool things with you. We have ads running on Facebook and Instagram, and the results definitely look promising. We’ll also be having a billboard installation soon so that should help with increasing awareness for Tayo. But by partnering and creating synergy with other brands and creatives, you get to have a more intentional, targeted approach to your audience.
Beyond excited to share more about what we’ll be doing for Oct. 5, so please do follow us on Facebook and Instagram as that’s where we’ll be announcing all details you need to know.
